South Dakota Offers Hunting License Refunds Amid Deer Disease Reports
Original: South Dakota wildlife officials offer hunting license refunds as deer disease reports continue
South Dakota wildlife officials are offering refunds to hunters holding deer hunting licenses as reports of disease among the state's deer population continue. The move gives hunters the option to get their money back rather than hunt in affected areas. Multiple local news outlets across the state, including in Rapid City and Mitchell, are covering the announcement, which is drawing attention from hunters concerned about herd health and the upcoming season.
Why now: Deer disease reports are affecting hunters' plans ahead of the hunting season, prompting state officials to respond with refunds.
