Ukraine drone strikes on Yandex data centers wipe out Russian bot traffic
Original: Russian disinformation bot traffic nearly eliminated overnight after Ukraine drone strikes cripple multiple of 'Russia's Google' data centers — Ukraine intensifies bombing of Yandex data centers in response to Moscow’s strikes on Kyiv data centers
Ukraine intensified drone strikes on Yandex data centers, with multiple facilities of what is often called 'Russia's Google' reported crippled. Observers say Russian disinformation bot traffic fell nearly to zero overnight after the attacks. The strikes are described as a response to Moscow's strikes on Kyiv's data centers, marking an escalation in the two countries' attacks on digital infrastructure.
Why now: The near-instant collapse of disinformation bot traffic suggests the data centers played a central role in running coordinated online operations, making the strikes a striking development in the war.
