UAE prosecutors say Flydubai co-pilot planned terror attack inspired by 9/11
Original: UAE prosecutors: Flydubai co-pilot planned a terror attack under the influence of the September 11 attacks
UAE prosecutors say a Flydubai co-pilot was planning a terror attack that they say was influenced by the September 11 attacks. The announcement, made by Emirati authorities, has drawn attention because it involves an active pilot at a major Gulf airline and directly links the alleged plot to the 2001 attacks. Few further details about the suspect or the planned target have been given.
Why now: The involvement of an airline pilot and the invoked link to the September 11 attacks make the case striking and security-sensitive.
