Clarence Seedorf appointed Corinthians head coach
Original: clarence seedorf
Clarence Seedorf has been named head coach of Brazilian club Corinthians, taking charge of his former Netherlands teammate Memphis Depay. The surprise appointment has drawn criticism given his mixed managerial record in China, Spain and at AC Milan, prompting the club's director to defend the decision and Seedorf to hit back at what he called prejudice at his first press conference. The KNVB is also weighing his possible dual role.
Why now: The surprise appointment of the Dutch football legend at Corinthians, reuniting him with Memphis Depay, is generating major debate in the Dutch and Brazilian press.
