Thousands of students are protesting in the Indian capital for a second day, reportedly over the arrest and release of the leader of the so-called Cockroach Party. Authorities have deployed more than 25,000 police officers, barricaded roads and shut down internet and public transport services across Delhi. The demonstrations follow the leader's release, which appears not to have calmed the unrest, with protests continuing into a second day.
Why now: A major police lockdown and continuing student unrest in the capital are drawing wide attention amid broader election-related tensions in India.
