Trump announces partial Ukraine ceasefire Zelenskyy says he knew nothing about
Original: Trump announces partial ceasefire in Ukraine war as Zelenskyy says deal is ‘news to me’
Donald Trump has announced a partial ceasefire in the war in Ukraine, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded that the deal was 'news to me', casting doubt on whether any agreement had actually been reached with Kyiv. The conflicting statements have raised questions about who was consulted and what the ceasefire would cover, as fighting between Russia and Ukraine continues.
Why now: Trump's announcement and Zelenskyy's denial directly contradict each other, creating confusion over the future of the war.
