Liverpool fans mock Man City on return after guilty verdict

Original: Liverpool fans 'welcome' Man City in first Premier League match since guilty verdict

Liverpool supporters gave Manchester City a pointed 'welcome' at Anfield in the first Premier League meeting between the clubs since City were found guilty in a disciplinary case. Home fans targeted the visiting side with chants and banners referencing the verdict, adding edge to one of the league's fiercest modern rivalries. The fixture was widely billed as City's first test of the hostile away atmosphere awaiting them following the ruling.

Why now: It was Manchester City's first Premier League away match since the guilty verdict, and opposition fans used the occasion to taunt the club.
