Original: This is our daily life in Gaza… hunger, oppression, and tents tearing down above our heads! We wake up every day to new
A resident account from Gaza describes daily life marked by hunger, displacement and torn tents: people wake to new hardships, search for food to feed their children and attempt to repair shelters ripped apart by wind and worn by time. The account frames the situation as a daily struggle for survival, with shortages of food and adequate shelter at the centre of the hardship.
Why now: Ongoing war, famine warnings and displacement in Gaza keep first-person accounts of hunger and shelter conditions drawing widespread attention.
