US President Donald Trump said he warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he could attack Russia however he wished but should not hit oil refineries, calling it a world problem. He complained Zelensky went ahead and struck diesel fuel facilities, adding 'he better damn well stop.' The remarks highlight tensions over Ukraine's deep-strike campaign against Russian energy infrastructure.
Why now: The US president publicly rebuking a wartime ally over strikes on Russian refineries is a significant shift likely tied to peace negotiations.
