England braced for early and severe flu season
Original: england early flu season ukhsa
Health officials are warning that England could face its worst flu season since the pandemic, with the UK Health Security Agency indicating flu activity has arrived earlier than usual. The NHS is preparing for heightened pressure on hospitals and GP services over the winter months, with reports urging eligible people to get vaccinated ahead of the peak. Concerns focus on increased admissions among older and vulnerable groups if the season continues to intensify.
Why now: Early flu activity reported by UKHSA has raised fears of a severe winter strain on the NHS.
