Zelenskyy says Ukraine could hold elections after 60-day ceasefire

Original: Zelenskyy: "If President Trump really wants to have elections, tell Putin give us two months, 60 days of total ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that if US President Donald Trump wants Ukraine to hold elections, he should ask Vladimir Putin to agree to a total ceasefire. "Tell Putin to give us two months, 60 days of total ceasefire, and we will organize elections," Zelenskyy said, adding that Ukraine would respect whatever choice its people make. His comments respond to pressure over wartime elections while highlighting that a vote is impossible under ongoing Russian attacks.

Why now: Zelenskyy is directly responding to Trump's push for Ukrainian elections by tying them to a ceasefire deal with Russia.
