Olympic champion Walter Wallberg to sit out 2026/27 season
Swedish freestyle skier Walter Wallberg, the Olympic moguls champion, will skip the entire 2026/27 competitive season, according to an announcement by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation. The move means the reigning Olympic titleholder will miss a full World Cup campaign and major international competition during that period.
Why now: News that an Olympic gold medallist is taking a season-long break naturally draws attention ahead of the winter sports calendar.
