Boris Johnson accuses White House of funding Putin's war via oil
Original: White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll putin’s slaughter – Boris Johnson # BorisJohn
Former UK prime minister Boris Johnson has accused the White House of forcing American drivers to 'bankroll Putin's slaughter', a pointed criticism of US policy on Russian oil and the war in Ukraine. The remarks, published via UA Tribune, argue that continued purchases of Russian-derived fuel effectively finance Moscow's invasion, putting Washington's energy and sanctions approach back at the centre of debate over Western support for Ukraine.
Why now: Ongoing debate over US energy policy and sanctions on Russian oil as the Ukraine war continues.
