British PM says it is 'clear' Russia interfered with Brexit vote
The British Prime Minister has stated it is 'clear' that Russia interfered with the 2016 Brexit referendum vote. The remark revives a long-running debate in the UK over Russian influence in British politics, which has previously been examined by Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee and repeatedly denied by the Kremlin. Commenters are reacting to the significance of a sitting Prime Minister asserting interference so directly.
Why now: A senior government figure has directly accused Russia of interfering in a landmark UK vote, reigniting a contentious political debate.
