Original: クライミング

A woman suffered cardiac arrest after slipping and falling while rock climbing in Kawakami Village, Nagano Prefecture. Meanwhile, at the National Sports Festival, athlete Akitoshi Narasaki, originally from Utsunomiya and representing Fukui, won consecutive titles in the adult bouldering event. The news pairs a fatal-looking climbing accident with a competitive success, drawing attention to the sport's risks and achievements.

Why now: A serious climbing accident and a national championship win both put the sport in the news at the same time.
