Trump Administration Suspends Indian IT Firms From Green Card Programme
Original: Breaking News: Trump Admin Suspends Indian IT Giants & Tech Firms From US Green Card Programme
The Trump administration has suspended major Indian IT companies and other tech firms from the US green card programme, according to India Today reporting. The move affects some of the largest users of employment-based green cards, which have long relied on the programme to place skilled workers from India at American clients. Indian IT giants such as TCS, Infosys and Wipro are among those believed to be impacted, and the decision is drawing close attention in India's technology sector.
Why now: The suspension threatens the long-standing staffing and immigration model of India's biggest IT exporters and their US-based employees.
