Trump suggests renaming the Atlantic or Pacific oceans

Original: 'Something like that': Trump suggests renaming the Atlantic or Pacific oceans

Donald Trump has floated the idea of renaming the Atlantic or Pacific oceans, responding 'something like that' when asked about the possibility. The remark follows his earlier move to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, and has drawn widespread mockery and confusion, with critics calling the proposal pointless while supporters treat it as another nationalist rebranding effort.

Why now: Trump's history of geographic renaming decisions makes the comment seem like a possible next step and fuels debate about US identity politics
