Fundraiser for student's food, housing and legal help stalls
Original: The last time we met this weekly goal—supporting a student's food, housing, and legal help, because he has nothing else
A fundraising appeal for a student named Ahmed, who has no other support, has stalled well short of its weekly goal. Organisers say the last time the target was met was three weeks ago, with only 28 of 250 pounds raised for the coming Sunday. The appeal covers his food, housing and legal costs, and donors are urged to set up recurring contributions so support continues.
Why now: Supporters are being rallied after donations fell far short of the weekly target, leaving a vulnerable student at risk.
