Mapping justice claims for solar geoengineering

A new effort to map justice claims around solar geoengineering is drawing attention. The debate centers on who gets to decide whether to cool the planet artificially, and whose interests count: nations most vulnerable to climate change, indigenous communities, and future generations have all raised competing claims. Critics warn geoengineering could redistribute climate risks unevenly across the globe. The mapping work aims to make these conflicts explicit before any deployment decisions are made.
Why now: Solar geoengineering is a contentious emerging climate technology, and framing it through justice claims touches ongoing debates about governance and inequality
