Ukrainian World Congress warns against easing sanctions on Russian energy

Original: Ukrainian World Congress warns against easing sanctions on Russian energy exports

The Ukrainian World Congress is warning Western governments against relaxing sanctions on Russian energy exports. The diaspora organisation argues that easing restrictions would give Moscow revenue that could fund its war effort and undercut pressure for peace. The warning comes amid ongoing debates in the US and Europe about energy prices and the future of sanctions policy toward Russia.

Why now: Debates over sanction relief on Russian energy have resurfaced amid war-related energy price concerns and peace negotiations.
