Would Orcas Rule Every Prehistoric Ocean?
Original: Would Orcas Dominate Every Prehistoric Ocean?
A question about how modern orcas would fare against the predators of Earth's ancient seas is drawing large attention online. The hypothetical asks whether today's apex hunters, with their intelligence, speed and coordinated hunting, could outcompete giants like mosasaurs, ichthyosaurs and megalodon if placed in prehistoric oceans. Commenters are debating bite force, pack tactics and size mismatches, with most agreeing that while orcas are formidable, some eras would simply be too dangerous.
Why now: Hypothetical animal matchups are a reliably popular debate topic, and this one pairs a beloved modern predator with dramatic prehistoric rivals.
