Shivraj Singh Chouhan calls officials 'demons' over tribal distress

Original: शिवराज सिंह चौहान

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reacted emotionally after seeing adivasi families distressed, reportedly tearing into officials and calling those responsible 'nar-pishaach' (demons). The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, who holds the agriculture and rural development portfolios, demanded accountability for the treatment of tribal communities. The sharp language from a senior minister has drawn attention to how officials handle welfare delivery in tribal areas.

Why now: A senior Union minister publicly and harshly rebuking his own bureaucracy over tribal hardship is unusual and striking.
