Fingerprints are the new cookies in online tracking
Original: Fingerprints are the new cookies https:// feddit.org/post/36595322
Privacy-minded users are warning that browser fingerprinting has replaced cookies as the dominant way websites track people online. The comparison is circulating as regulators and browser makers face renewed pressure to rein in covert tracking techniques.
Why now: Renewed concern over browser fingerprinting as a tracking method that users cannot easily block, unlike cookies.
