University student steps in for ill pianist at Australian concert

Original: ピアニスト

A pianist fell unwell mid-concert in Australia, and an audience member — a university student — stepped in to perform in her place, rescuing the event. Japanese broadcaster Chiba TV reported the story, and it is being widely shared and discussed in Japan as a striking example of composure and talent under pressure.

Why now: The unusual story of an audience member saving a concert by substituting for a sick pianist is drawing admiration online.
