Czech MEP Tomasz Zdechovsky claims that Ukrainian strikes on Russian data centres used by Yandex have sharply reduced internet activity linked to Germany's Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, which he framed as part of broader information operations. The comment suggests Russian-hosted online infrastructure was playing a role in amplifying pro-AfD content, a claim likely to fuel ongoing debate about foreign influence in European politics.
Why now: Claims that strikes on Russian infrastructure disrupted pro-AfD online activity tie together the war, tech and European election politics.
