Original: tim kennedy

Former UFC fighter and Green Beret Tim Kennedy was reportedly shot three times while working private security in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The report lands alongside New York Times coverage of a deadly firefight linked to Erik Prince's operations in the country, drawing attention to the growing role of private military contractors in the mineral-rich conflict region.

Why now: The former MMA star's reported wounding coincides with new scrutiny of mercenary activity in the DRC.
