Manchester United's ongoing struggles on and off the pitch are under fresh scrutiny, with critics arguing the club's decline goes deeper than recent results. A New York Times column asks whether United are not just 'living in misery' but also 'living a lie', suggesting the club's self-image as an elite force no longer matches reality.
