Original: Nearly half of foreign TV series on Russian streaming service have been censored,Mediazona reports
The news outlet Mediazona reports that nearly half of the foreign TV series available on a Russian streaming service have been censored. Scenes containing violence, profanity, LGBT content or material deemed politically sensitive are typically cut or edited before release. The finding highlights the tightening of content restrictions on foreign entertainment in Russia, where regulators increasingly require platforms to sanitise Western shows to comply with cultural and legal standards.
