Four soldiers from the Israeli army's Military Intelligence Directorate have admitted receiving orders to drop heavy bombs on inhabited buildings in Gaza without evacuating residents first, resulting in civilian casualties. Critics denounce the confessions, saying celebrations of the admissions ring hollow while strikes and killings in Gaza continue. The claims are fueling fresh debate over the conduct of Israel's air campaign.
