Lumabyte lets users chat, generate images and search documents using AI models running locally on their own computer, with versions for Windows, macOS and Linux. It is free, requires no account, and has been open source under the AGPL licence since version 2.0. A new dashboard adds calendar, Slack and Teams integration, drawing attention among privacy-minded users.
Why now: Growing interest in running AI models locally for privacy without cloud accounts.
