The DP World Tour will bar LIV Golf players from 2027, a major shift from the European Tour's previous stance on the Saudi-backed circuit. Under the decision, members who join LIV will lose their playing rights, which also makes them ineligible for the Ryder Cup. The move escalates the long-running split in professional golf between the traditional tours and LIV Golf.
Why now: It marks a decisive break in golf's power struggle, with Ryder Cup eligibility at stake for LIV players.
