UN expert Francesca Albanese criticised over capitalism remarks

Original: @ FranceskAlbs Satiated masses through ultra-processed foods, singular attention span focusing on cell phones, teach sin

UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese is being quoted and criticised for remarks arguing that capitalism keeps populations complacent through ultra-processed foods, smartphone-driven short attention spans, and rote multiple-choice schooling that produces 'single solve' mindsets. Commentators are debating whether the critique is a legitimate warning about consumerism and education or an overreach from a UN mandate holder.

Why now: Francesca Albanese is a high-profile UN figure whose sweeping political statements regularly draw strong reactions.
