Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has offered to mediate between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, saying a military solution would only complicate the escalating crisis. The proposal was communicated directly to Saudi counterparts, signalling Tehran's attempt to position itself as a regional broker amid renewed tensions along the Saudi-Yemeni front.

Why now: The escalation of the Saudi-Houthi conflict has raised fears of a wider regional war, making Iran's mediation offer newsworthy.
