Social media users are circulating warnings about alleged Russian bot farms, including activity tied to Yandex, that are said to flood platforms with coordinated posts on divisive subjects such as the Ukraine war, the WHO and US health politics. Critics say the bots stoke outrage on topics like measles and vaccines while drowning out year-round public health discussion. The specific claims have not been independently verified.
Why now: Concerns over coordinated inauthentic accounts amplifying polarising health and war-related content are resurfacing amid ongoing Ukraine war coverage.
