Munich's LiMux open source project rises again

Munich is reviving its LiMux open source project, moving the city's IT back away from Microsoft software years after the original migration was reverted. Commenters describe the project as having risen like a phoenix from the ashes, changed and possibly stronger than before, and see it as part of a broader European push to unplug from big tech vendors.
Why now: Munich's renewed commitment to open source after abandoning LiMux is seen as a significant win for the Linux and digital sovereignty movement.
