Burnham says RAF Fairford plot directed by Iran's IRGC
Original: BREAKING: Andy Burnham says the RAF Fairford plot was "almost certainly" directed by Iran's IRGC
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham says the plot targeting RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire was "almost certainly" directed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. His comments link the incident to Iranian state involvement on UK soil, a serious escalation in claims about foreign-directed activity against British military sites.
Why now: A senior British politician is publicly accusing Iran's IRGC of directing a plot against a UK airbase.
