What the White House press pool is and does
Original: What’s the White House press pool?
The White House press pool is the small rotating group of journalists who cover the president up close when the full press corps cannot fit, in the Oval Office, on Air Force One and at other events. Its composition and access rules have drawn fresh attention amid ongoing disputes between the administration and news organisations over who gets to attend presidential events.
Why now: Ongoing disputes over press access to the president have renewed public interest in how the pool works and who controls it
