Federal agents search Ilhan Omar's home in criminal investigation
Original: Federal agents search Omar’s home in criminal investigation
Federal agents have searched the home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar as part of a criminal investigation, according to The Hill. Few details have been released about the nature of the probe or what agents were looking for. The search of a sitting member of Congress is drawing significant attention, with observers awaiting further information from prosecutors about what the investigation involves and whether charges may follow.
Why now: A criminal search targeting a sitting US congresswoman is a rare and politically charged development.
