UK Security Minister Dan Burnham said Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is 'highly likely' to have been behind an alleged terror plot targeting RAF Fairford, the US air base in Gloucestershire, England. The statement points to Iranian state involvement in a plot on British soil and is expected to strain UK-Iran relations further, with officials weighing a response.
Why now: The senior minister's public attribution of a terror plot to Iran's IRGC is a significant escalation in UK-Iran tensions.
