Why MLB pitchers never apologize for hitting batters

A Japanese sports article is drawing attention to an unwritten rule in Major League Baseball: pitchers who hit batters with pitches almost never apologize. The piece explains the reasoning, suggesting that apologizing could actually be seen as a sign of weakness or an admission of intent, which runs counter to baseball culture. Japanese readers are finding the contrast with Nippon Professional Baseball, where apologies are common, striking and amusing.
Why now: The cultural contrast between American and Japanese baseball etiquette around hit batsmen is entertaining and surprising to Japanese fans.
