Shane Gillis hosted Saturday Night Live, and a column argues his material degraded women, urging audiences to react with more anger than they have shown. The commentary criticizes both the comedian's jokes and what it sees as public indifference to sexist humor on a mainstream US platform. Reaction to Gillis's hosting and the broader question of what late-night comedy should tolerate is dividing viewers.
