Mixtape wins Australian Game of the Year amid bias accusations

The game Mixtape took home Game of the Year at the Australian Game Developer Awards, along with awards for Excellence in Art and Excellence in Sound Design. The win is drawing criticism, with some gamers accusing the awards of astroturfing and noting that the list of professional judges is not publicly disclosed. Critics say the secrecy undermines the credibility of the result.

Why now: Skeptics are questioning the legitimacy of the award because the judging panel remains private and Mixtape's win is seen by some as undeserved.
