Rep. Omar Vows 'Not to Be Silenced' After Federal Raid on Her Home

Original: Rep. Omar Says She Will ‘Not Be Silenced’ After Federal Agents Raid Her Home

Congresswoman Ilan Omar says she will 'not be silenced' after federal agents reportedly raided her home. The Minnesota Democrat, a frequent target of political attacks over her Somali refugee background and criticism of US immigration policy, condemned the action as intimidation. Supporters are rallying behind her, while the circumstances and legal basis of the raid remain unclear.

Why now: Federal agents raiding the home of a sitting member of Congress is an extraordinary and politically charged event.
