NASA studies Colorado national park that feels like another world
Original: NASA studies this Colorado national park because it feels like another world
NASA is conducting research in a Colorado national park whose terrain is said to resemble conditions on another planet. The park's extreme landscape makes it a useful stand-in for studying environments similar to those found elsewhere in the solar system. The story is drawing attention for its unusual pairing of a familiar US landmark with extraterrestrial science.
Why now: The novelty of NASA using an Earth park as an analog for alien terrain makes it shareable science news.
