British Prime Minister Burnham said Monday that Iran's military was 'almost certainly' behind threats connected to RAF Fairford, an air base in England. The accusation ties Tehran to an alleged plot at a strategic UK military site and is likely to escalate diplomatic tensions between London and Iran. Details of the alleged plot and any planned British response remain limited in early reporting.
Why now: The prime minister publicly accusing Iran of a plot against a UK air base is a significant geopolitical development driving discussion.
