British PM says Iran 'almost certainly' behind RAF Fairford plot
Original: British PM: Iran 'almost certainly' behind RAF Fairford plot
The British Prime Minister has said Iran is 'almost certainly' behind an alleged plot connected to RAF Fairford, a US-run air base in Gloucestershire, England. The accusation marks a serious escalation in language between London and Tehran, though further details of the alleged plot and any evidence have not been made public, and Iran has not yet responded to the claim.
Why now: The British government has directly accused Iran of involvement in a plot at a strategically important US air base on UK soil.
