Jordan Klepper mocks Senator Schmitt over Hawkeyes mix-up
Original: # Dailyshow # JordanKlepper on senator schmitt's public face plant; Confusing professional team Hawks with college Hawke
Senator Eric Schmitt is being mocked after confusing the professional team the Hawks with the college Hawkeyes, a gaffe picked apart by Jordan Klepper on The Daily Show. Commenters compared the slip to mixing up NASA with NASCAR, with jokes that Schmitt fancied himself a Dan Brown detective but landed closer to Forrest Gump.
Why now: A senator's public slip-up being ridiculed on a popular late-night comedy show gives people an easy, shareable political joke.
