Trump insists Russia-Ukraine ceasefire agreed despite denials from both sides
Original: You said that the Russian Federation and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire, but both sides say that they did not agree to it
Donald Trump has claimed Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire, but both Moscow and Kyiv say no such agreement exists. Asked how he could say they agreed when both parties deny it, Trump replied that they did agree because he told them to. The contradiction is drawing attention as observers question the basis for his claim and what it means for peace efforts.
Why now: Trump's claim directly contradicts statements from both Russia and Ukraine, making the discrepancy newsworthy amid ongoing war coverage.
