Thousands more Chicago hotel workers could strike at any moment
Unite Here says thousands of additional Chicago hotel workers are prepared to walk off the job at any moment, expanding an ongoing labor dispute in the city's hospitality industry. The threat comes on top of earlier strike actions by hotel staff over wages, staffing levels and working conditions, putting pressure on major downtown hotels during a busy period.
Why now: An imminent, large-scale hotel strike would disrupt travel and hospitality in Chicago, making the labor standoff newsworthy.
