Bauers works 12-pitch walk against Yamamoto in marathon at-bat
Original: 12-pitch walk ... vs. Yamamoto?! Bauers outlasts ace before Crew's captain cashes in
Brewers hitter Jake Bauers drew a remarkable 12-pitch walk against Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, fouling off pitch after pitch in one of the longest plate appearances of the season. Milwaukee's captain then followed with a key hit to drive in runs, turning the grinding at-bat into a decisive moment in the game.
Why now: A 12-pitch walk against an elite starter is a rare feat, and the ensuing go-ahead hit made the at-bat pivotal to the outcome.
